Monitoring a Hectic Policy Ecosystem

It goes without saying, but we have entered a policy space that is constantly moving 100 mph--and that is with Congress not yet moving major initiatives. Even traditional recess periods are full of new announcements and policy rollouts.
This has an impact across the policy ecosystem in many ways, but it is especially hard on consumers of policy (those of us who want or need information) and those producers of policy (those of us who are seeking to advance policy). Both face the hurdle of being lost or difficult to find in a policy climate that seems somewhat like a tornado at times.
Monitoring policy activity (even in a slow cycle) can be challenging, so doing so now often comes with real difficulties. Here are three great resources that can help monitor what is happening in DC and how best to advance issues in this new climate:
Follow Brumidi Group on LinkedIn: Yes, a shameless plug, but we publish several analytical pieces per day, both on our LinkedIn account and our website at www.brumidigroup.com. If you cannot find what you are looking for there, drop us a note.
Watch White House “Executive Actions”: All the actions the President is taking (from Executive Orders to Memorandum) are posted on the White House website. While there is often a delay, the information is eventually posted (usually the same day) and it’s worth watching to get some certainty around issues that largely play out in the media.
The Federal Register: It will not be your most exciting source of daily information, but the Federal Register is an information source that is fully dedicated to distributing information such as new rules, comment periods, key announcements, etc. It helps tell the story around key agency activities and you can easily define which agencies you want to monitor to avoid reading hundreds of pages every day.
