Cyber Report | May 3rd, 2024

This week, NIST published several new documents on artificial intelligence - all of which are open for feedback from stakeholders. Furthermore, President Biden signed a national security memorandum for critical infrastructure resilience, while CISA published new guidance for critical infrastructure owners and operators related to AI threats.

Separately, the House Homeland Security Committee held a hearing on the proposed CIRCIA rule, while the House Appropriations Committee heard from CISA Director Easterly on the FY25 budget request. Lastly, Senators Warner and Tillis introduced legislation to improve cybersecurity incident tracking and risk reporting to better incorporate artificial intelligence systems.
