Cyber & AI Report | June 14th, 2024

This week, there was movement on the NDAA in both the House (floor-level) and Senate (committee-level), with important cyber and AI provisions included in both versions. Furthermore, the Department of Defense formally established a new Cyber Academic Engagement Office as directed by the FY24 NDAA.


Separately, Senators Peters and Tillis introduced new legislation on the federal procurement of AI technologies, while Senators Cantwell and Moran released their new bill on resources for small businesses seeking to leverage AI. Lastly, OMB published their findings from FY23 FISMA reporting, and a new BIS rule on information disclosure requirements for AI developers is under White House review.
