Cyber Report: August 18th, 2023

This week, the FEC released an opportunity for public input on prohibiting the use of deceptive artificial intelligence in campaign advertisements. NIST also published an interactive, searchable reference tool to assist organizations with utilizing the latest 2.0 version of the Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). Additionally, the White House Office of the National Cyber Director extended its public input period for its RFI on cyber regulatory harmonization.

Furthermore, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) sent letters to a range of AI companies on their actions (or lack thereof) on the Biden administration's voluntary AI commitments. Lastly, CISA published a JCDC Cyber Defense Plan focused on remote mapping, while NIST published its latest Cyber & Privacy Mapping Guide.
