BG3: October 9th - 13th

This week, most of the energy around Capitol Hill has been focused on House Republicans' efforts to find a new Speaker of the House. After the party nominated current Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) for the position by a vote of 113-99, he decided not to run for the position due to concerns that he would not garner the 217 votes necessary to confirm him on the House floor.

Furthermore, Congress is still exploring potential aid and military support for Israel, with much of these efforts stalling due to the ongoing tensions surrounding House speakership. Lastly, new polling was released showing rising favorability for candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis.
