OUR PERSPECTIVES

BG3: October 30th - November 3rd

This week, most of the energy around Capitol Hill has been focused on spending discussions - especially for a supplemental funding solution to provide emergency funds to both Israel and Ukraine. The House passed a $14.3 billion bill that would provide aid to Israel, but notably did not include funding for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Schumer has stated that for this aid legislation to advance in the Senate, they will include funding for aid to both Israel and Ukraine, humanitarian aid for Gaza, and competition with the Chinese Government.

Furthermore, the House was unable to clear two resolutions sanctioning two members of the House of Representatives. Lastly, the administration released October jobs data - reporting a decline in the hiring data that was published from the month of September.
