BG Week in Review: July 24th - 28th

As of today, Congress has adjourned for a much needed August recess, which will include staff-level negotiations on must-pass bills and member-level engagement with constituents back home. Before they headed home, lawmakers in the Senate passed their FY24 National Defense Authorization Act by a bipartisan vote of 86-11. Lastly, Democrats received welcome news that GDP grew by 2.4% in the second quarter of 2023, further adding to economic talking points that will certainly be used on the campaign trail.
